From the moment I stepped inside Anam Kara, I was met with an immediate sense of warmth and calm. It is one of those rare places that makes you feel welcome the second you arrive.

From the incredible views outside to the smallest, most intricate details inside, everything feels so thoughtfully considered. There is a real sense that nothing has been done just for the sake of it. Every element of the space has been created with care, intention and an understanding of how you want people to feel while they are there.

And then there was the food. Honestly, epic.

We were given a run-through of everything by the chef, who explained what had gone into each dish, where ingredients had come from and even how she had foraged some of the berries herself. The level of care, creativity and attention to detail was exceptional. The presentation, flavours and entire experience around the food genuinely felt like something you would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Our event itself was truly beautiful, but what made the day even more special was everything surrounding it. Afterwards, we walked the grounds, gathered around the fire pit and, as we were leaving, were given something small to take with us for the drive home. It was such a simple touch, but it perfectly summed up the thoughtfulness that runs through the entire Anam Kara experience.

I have been lucky enough to attend a lot of beautiful venues and events over the years, but Anam Kara genuinely stands out as one of the nicest I have ever experienced.

Warm, beautiful, considered and completely unique. I would recommend it to a friend without hesitation, and I already know this won’t be my last visit.
